Saturday in Austin, around 3,000 people showed up for a states rights rally. A number of speakers -- including Americans for Prosperity Texas Director Peggy Venable, Reps Leo Burman and Wayne Christian, along with grassroots organizers spoke.
The event was non-partisan though a number of speakers commended Gov. Perry and AG Abbott for their challenging the corrupt dealings (the constitutionality of ObamaCare and Texans paying for programs in Nebraska), and a number of folks there had Medina signs.
Debra Medina is pushing for Gov. Perry to call a special session to nullify the health care bill. It's not passed yet, and depending on what happens in Mass. today, it may not.
Texas is not slated for another legislative session until Jan 2011.
But everyone there wanted to assert state rights and remind the federal government that they work for us and that the rights not enumerated in the Constitution belong to the states.
