Republican Primary Candidate Gubernatorial debate

Hutchison claims that she knows how to balance a budget, but we haven't see it. Washington’s lack of fiscal restraint has lead to a national debt of over 12 trillion dollars, which equates to a debt burden of over $39,000 for every man, woman, and child in the US.

In fact, for FY 2009, Washington ran a deficit of over $1.4 trillion dollars, three times that of FY 2008’s deficit. With her record of “balanced budgets” how can we let her take control of the helm in Texas? We must protect Texas from Washington's irresponsible spending practices.

Tonight's gubernatorial debate doesn't appear to be a game-changer.

Facts remain that Texas is the number one state in the country for job creation, the only large state without a budget deficit, and the number one state for business relocation. For the first time in the Texas' history, we have more Fortune 500 companies than any other state.

While Washington, D.C. and other states are deep in debt and increasing taxes, Texas is a beacon of fiscal sanity. Gov. Rick Perry has been a fiscal conservative and has lead some of the battles like tort reform which have helped made the Lone Star State the envy of the rest of the country.
