Teacher Union antics - there they go again!

The Los Angeles teachers union president said Sunday he was organizing a “massive boycott” of The Times after the newspaper began publishing a series of articles that uses student test scores to estimate the effectiveness of district teachers.

“You’re leading people in a dangerous direction, making it seem like you can judge the quality of a teacher by … a test,” said A.J. Duffy, president of United Teachers Los Angeles, which has more than 40,000 members.

How dare the media report on teacher performance!!! I guess taxpayers don't really have a right to know what kind of job they are doing, at least not according to the teacher union.

They should take a page from the Texas Education Agency and use the "Texas Projection Measure." Under TPM, a student who did not answer a single question correctly on the test is considered "passing" since the school thinks the student will pass sometime in the next 3 years. Then, like Texas schools, they can pretend everyone gets an "A" Yeah!
