Obama's new national tax proposal is a trial balloon which should not be allowed to fly.

The Obama Administration is testing the water for a new tax – a value added tax (VAT). We need to draw a clear line in the sand that no new national taxes will be put in place without eliminating—not cutting, but permanently eliminating—our existing income tax.
